Hours for walk-in traffic during Summer Break:
Monday through Friday: 10 am to 3 pm
First Day of School:
For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

PROVISIONS REGARDING THE CANCELLATION OF IN-PERSON CLASSES
Please note that decisions regarding the cancellation of classes at the German International School Washington D.C. are following the local Public Schools. Therefore, cancellation decisions for Montgomery County also apply to the German International School.
To find out if classes follow the regular schedule or have been canceled, please call the 91抖阴 office at 301.767.3824 or the weather line at 301.767.3850. On Saturday mornings cancellations will be announced around 7:00 am and for Wednesday evening classes on Wednesdays around 2:00 pm. If in-person classes will be canceled due to inclement weather, they will be held online.

FORCE MAJEURE/ACT of GOD CLAUSE:
During periods that the 91抖阴 is closed due to Force Majeure, in events beyond the 91抖阴鈥檚 control, the 91抖阴 is under no obligation to refund any portion of the tuition paid.
