Participation in MINT-EC Camps

GISW students participate in MINT EC camps for the first time

We made it! Since our school is now affiliated with MINT-EC, we can take advantage of the exciting benefits the network has to offer, one of them being participation in MINT-EC Camps. These scientific internships take place over four to five days at renowned German universities.

On May 6, 2019, for the first time, two of our students flew to Germany, full of anticipation.

Sebastian S. (10a) went to Aachen to the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule. With more than 45,000 students, it is the largest university for studies in engineering in Germany. He attended a camp on "Sustainability in Resource Engineering - The Path from Extraction to Recycling".

Ann-July E. (10a) participated in a molecular biology camp which took place in the student laboratory of the Heisenberg-Gymnasium as well as the educational lab of the Bayer AG in Dortmund.

Both will report on their interesting experiences at the GISW lecture series on June 12th.

In addition to gaining new knowledge and building connections through the network-related exchange, participation in MINT camps assists students interested in acquiring the MINT-EC certificate which we are authorized to issue to qualified high school graduates, starting this school year.
